Kuwait has made a historic appointment of 105 new prosecutors, the highest number of Kuwaitis selected for the position in the country’s history. This initiative is part of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to create employment opportunities for its citizens. The successful applicants, which include 16 women, will undergo training at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial Studies before assuming their roles. The move aligns with the government’s directive for the “Kuwaitisation” of the judiciary, aiming to increase the representation of Kuwaiti citizens in key legal positions. This strategic step also addresses broader initiatives to balance demographic ratios and reduce dependency on foreign labor in the country.
