Kuwait Names Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as New Emir Following the Passing of Sheikh Nawaf

In the wake of the passing of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwait has swiftly appointed Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as the new Emir. This decision was reached during an emergency Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Expressing deep condolences for the late Sheikh Nawaf’s accomplishments, Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stated, “With great sorrow, the Council of Ministers expresses deep condolences with the passing away of our father, leader of our march His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away following a journey of dedication and loyalty to his nation and its people.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Essa Al-Kanderi, officially announced Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as the Emir of the State of Kuwait. This declaration is in accordance with the Constitution.
The statement released by the Amiri Diwan through the state-run news agency KUNA conveyed the solemn news of Sheikh Nawaf’s demise, stating, “With deep grief and regret, we mourn to the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Muslim nations and friendly people the demise of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who passed away today Saturday.”
