KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Interior has introduced an automatic surveillance camera system through the Department of Transport and Operations to detect violations such as not wearing seat belts and using mobile phones while driving.

The initiative follows the directives of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah for automated breach monitoring using artificial intelligence and modern technology. It aims to reduce traffic accidents and improve safety on the road network.

The ministry emphasized that the technology is designed to improve road safety by ensuring strict adherence to traffic rules and accurately detecting and addressing traffic violations.

The Ministry is confident that the use of this technology will make a substantial contribution to reaching the targeted results of lowering traffic-related fatalities and raising road safety.
