UAE launches AI System to Speed Up Lawmaking
New Regulatory Intelligence System Aims to Speed Up Legislation and Enhance Legal Transparency

UAE Launches AI-Driven Legal System to Transform Lawmaking and Governance
A significant step forward in the country’s digital transformation goal has been marked by the United Arab Emirates’ approval of the introduction of its first artificial intelligence-based regulatory intelligence system. This clever idea, which has the Cabinet’s support, will modernize the process of creating, updating, and managing laws.
AI to Improve and Speed Up Legislative Procedures
The new system, which incorporates AI technology, will evaluate data, spot legal loopholes, and suggest timely changes to laws. By cutting the time required to design and approve new legislation by as much as 70%, the goal is to make the legislative process far more efficient, accurate, and responsive to changes in the real world.
Real-Time Global Legal Monitoring
The system will continuously track regulatory developments from around the world, enabling the UAE to align its laws with evolving international standards and respond swiftly to global shifts in policy and regulation.
Unified Legal Platform for Greater Accessibility
At the core of this transformation is a comprehensive national legal database that combines federal and local laws, court rulings, executive orders, and procedural guidelines. This smart platform will offer centralized access for both government authorities and the public, ensuring legal information is accurate, transparent, and easily retrievable.
Regulatory Intelligence Office to Lead the Change
A new Regulatory Intelligence Office will be created within the Cabinet Secretariat to lead and oversee the implementation of this plan. The office will be responsible for overseeing the system, ensuring it is aligned with the UAE’s key objectives, and working closely with partners in the public and commercial sectors.
Advancing Digital Governance
The plan demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to leading the world in digital governance. By using AI to improve the legislative process, the country is cementing its position as a progressive hub for innovation, regulation, and intelligent governance.
