Dubai RTA Reports AED 3.7 Billion Digital Revenue Growth in 2023
Dubai [UAE], October 6: Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced that RTA’s digital revenue for 2023 has achieved a significant growth of 16.8 percent to reach AED3. .705 billion compared to the previous year.
The total number of digital transactions conducted through RTA’s channels rose to 821 million, representing a 1 percent increase from 2022. Transactions through smart apps recorded 15.299 million, representing a significant growth of 29 percent.
The real-time happiness indicator across RTA’s apps exceeded 95 percent, showing a 2 percent improvement over the previous year.
“In 2023, the number of registered users on RTA’s digital service channels will reach 1.404 million, which represents a 20 percent increase compared to 2022. RTA’s applications have been installed 3.056 million times from app stores,” commented Al Tayer.
As part of its comprehensive roadmap to automate services and tasks, enhance AI capabilities and improve operational efficiency, RTA launched the upgraded Mahboob Chatbot, now powered by ChatGPT technology. Improved user data protection and more human-like responses are features of this edition.
Furthermore, RTA has created cutting-edge smart kiosks to deliver services more quickly and effectively. 42 In order to guarantee service quality, the RTA services customer experience was revamped, and a proactive notification monitoring system was implemented. In order to provide a one platform for all of its services, RTA recently released an enhanced version of the RTA Dubai app.
The update includes an AI-powered parking prediction feature covering 190,000 spaces and an NFC-based nol top-up service that allows instant balance updates without the need to visit public transport stations or tap a card on a reader device.
A vehicle plate exchange service has been introduced by the Dubai Drive app, cutting down on the number of service center trips and transaction times. It ensures easy and safe access to services by doing away with the requirement to register for an RTA account and log in with UAE PASS.
Additionally, RTA released an upgraded version of the S’hail app, which now includes a number of features like the ability to enable routes for bicycles and e-scooters, show the locations of taxi stands, and add event information in collaboration with the travel and economy sectors. In addition, the app includes a QR code for trip planning; by 2023, 18 million journeys will have been planned with it.

In joint digital channels with the Government of Dubai, through the Dubai Now app, RTA developed two experiences under the “City Experience” initiative: the Vehicle Driving Experience (comprising three services) and the Vehicle Registration Renewal Experience (comprising two services).
RTA has integrated its services on the Dubai Now app with private insurance providers to provide customers with a seamless and comprehensive experience. In addition, RTA developed 11 services in the Emirati Package under the High Commission for Development and Citizen Affairs, along with seven services in the Dubai Now app as part of the 360 Services program for joint channels.
