Kuwaiti Ministry of Health Enhances Work Allowances for Nurses
The Ministry of Health in Kuwait has introduced a revamped system for the classification of work allowances for nurses, streamlining the previous three categories (A, B, and C) into two simplified categories: A and B. This initiative is aimed at creating a more supportive work environment for nursing staff while recognizing and appreciating their steadfast dedication and commitment.
Approximately 10,000 nurses are set to benefit from this reclassification, with an average monthly increase of KD50 (approximately Dh583) in their work allowances. Among them, 599 Kuwaiti nurses will transition from category B to category A, and 98 will move from category C to category B, resulting in 697 Kuwaiti nurses experiencing an increase in their allowances.
In the non-Kuwaiti nursing category, 4,200 individuals will be upgraded from category B to category A, and 3,702 will advance from category C to category B. This totals to 7,902 non-Kuwaiti nurses benefiting from the updated classification.
Furthermore, 601 non-Kuwaiti nurses under the bonus clause will undergo reclassification. Of these, 401 will transition from category B to category A, and 200 from category C to category B. Each of them will enjoy an average monthly increment of KD50. This move demonstrates Kuwait’s commitment to supporting and recognizing the invaluable contributions of its nursing workforce.
