Indian Embassy’s Swift Action Rescues 19 Tamil Nadu Youth in Kuwait

The joint efforts of the Indian embassy finally led to the rescue of 19 Tamil Nadu youth who had been caught in a precarious situation in Kuwait as a result of their extended relationship with a travel agency. As they landed at Chennai Airport on a Thursday, their journey for freedom came to an end. Minister K.S. Masthan of Tamil Nadu and a number of other government officials greeted them warmly, according to Alseyassah.

These young people had originally set off on a trip of hope after giving a travel agency each a fee of one lakh rupees in exchange for the assurance of a monthly wage of 60,000 rupees as well as free lodging and meals. Their aspirations, which they had mistaken for a “dreamland,” were dashed when they finally arrived in Kuwait. They were told that they would receive a pitiful Rs 18,000 a month instead of the promised compensation and that they would also be responsible for paying for their own shelter and food. Their dismay was further increased by the agency’s demand that they work longer hours.

The young people tried to renege on their agreements with the agency when things became worse. They were shocked when the agency asked each person for an outrageous Rs 60,000 to end the contract. When they learned that their visas had run out and that they would need to be renewed at a cost of Rs 1,25,000 per person, which they could not afford, things took a dark turn.

The agency heartlessly cut off the youngsters’ electricity and water supplies, leaving them in an impossible situation. They contacted the Indian Embassy at this crucial time and described the terrifying experience they had gone through.

M.K. Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, took action out of profound concern for the suffering of these 19 young people. He got in touch with the Indian embassy in Kuwait and requested that they move quickly to liberate these imprisoned children.
