Embassy of India in Oman Commemorates 154th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

The Embassy of India in Oman observed the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, paying heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of the Father of the Nation.
During a special event held at the Embassy premises, Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, led the gathering in offering floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. This solemn act was followed by members of the Indian community and Embassy officers, who joined in commemorating the life and teachings of this iconic figure.
Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence, truth, and social justice continues to inspire generations worldwide, making this occasion a poignant reminder of his enduring impact.
The tribute was accompanied by soul-soothing renditions of bhajans, adding a musical touch to the event.
Ambassador Amit Narang highlighted the continued relevance of Gandhi’s principles, affirming, “Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings remain as pertinent today as they were during his time. As we celebrate his birth anniversary, we also celebrate the values that guide us toward a more just and peaceful world.”
This year’s celebration held particular significance, marking the first anniversary of the installation of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Embassy premises.
