Yas Waterworld Set for Major Expansion with Thrilling Rides and Attractions

Miral, the Abu Dhabi-based immersive destination creator, has announced a major expansion to Yas Waterworld, located on Yas Island. The 16,900 square meter expansion, set to be completed by 2025, will introduce 3.3 kilometers of slide sections, including 18 new rides and attractions, bringing the total offerings at the park to over 60. This expansion is in line with Miral’s commitment to positioning Yas Island as a top global destination for entertainment and leisure.
The new features of the expansion will include the UAE’s highest slide and the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) inaugural water park amusement ride integrated within a waterslide complex. One of the highlight attractions will be an exhilarating ride with a 15-meter-high drop for up to 20 guests, promising an unparalleled adventure and adrenaline rush. The expansion aims to enhance Yas Waterworld’s appeal, making it a must-visit destination for water park enthusiasts.
Yas Waterworld, known for its immersive experiences, will introduce a new chapter called the “Lost City.” This addition will invite guests on a journey to discover hidden treasures and secret passages, seamlessly blending with the park’s existing architectural style, rockwork features, and iconic characters. The expansion will also include a swim-up bar, high-thrill boat ride, racing and tube slides, family raft rides, and scaled-down versions of iconic rides for younger thrill-seekers.
Miral’s Group CEO, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, expressed pride in contributing to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification and enhancing its global appeal as a tourism hub. He emphasized Miral’s commitment to the growth and development of Yas Island as a leading global entertainment destination.
Yas Waterworld is part of Yas Island’s comprehensive offerings, which include Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, Yas Bay Waterfront, Etihad Arena, the world’s first Warner Bros. themed hotel, and the recently opened SeaWorld Yas Island. The expansion aligns with Miral’s vision of providing world-class attractions on Yas Island and further solidifying its status as a top-tier entertainment destination. The ambitious project is expected to elevate the overall visitor experience and contribute to Yas Island’s reputation as a premier leisure and entertainment hub.
