UAE Ministry Urges Flexible Work Arrangements Amidst Rains and Thunderstorms

As rains and thunderstorms persist in parts of the UAE, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) has issued an advisory urging private companies to implement flexible work setups on November 17. With a focus on occupational health and safety, the ministry emphasizes the need for companies to assess and adapt essential outdoor work to comply with safety standards.

The advisory underscores the responsibility of companies in ensuring the well-being of workers commuting to and from outdoor locations, particularly in light of the inclement weather. The announcement aligns with the ministry’s commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of the workforce.

In a parallel development, Ras Al Khaimah has decided to conduct government school classes remotely on the same day due to heavy rains impacting the emirate. The precautionary measure aims to safeguard students and staff from potential disruptions caused by adverse weather conditions.

As the country anticipates lightning, thunder, and varying intensities of rainfall over the next two days, crisis management teams in Ras Al Khaimah are on high alert. The flexible work arrangements proposed by Mohre mirror a similar initiative undertaken about three weeks ago during a 28-day spell of rain.
