Mohammed bin Rashid Approves Dubai Social Agenda 33 Welfare Projects

Dubai Social Agenda 33: Transformative Projects for a Stronger Future

In a visionary move for 2024, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has given his approval to a transformative series of projects under the Dubai Social Agenda 33. Unveiled recently by His Highness, this agenda is guided by the overarching theme of ‘Family: The Foundation of Our Nation.’

Among the greenlit projects, the allocation of 3,500 land plots for distribution among Dubai citizens stands out, along with the provision of 2,300 ready-to-move-in houses valued at AED5.5 billion. Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to supporting citizens and ensuring the welfare of their families is evident in these initiatives. Notably, the new housing project for citizens will be named ‘Latifa City,’ a tribute to Sheikh Mohammed’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Highlighting the significance of family, social stability, and public welfare in government plans, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that these elements are foundational to Dubai’s success story. The commitment to providing optimal conditions for work and creativity, coupled with housing and welfare measures, contributes to social cohesion in the emirate.

The newly designated area, Latifa City, spans 40 million square feet and pays homage to Sheikha Latifa’s humanitarian contributions. The housing plots, to be handed over in February, include 2,700 plots in Latifa City and 800 plots in Al Yalayis 5 area. Additionally, the 2,300 new houses for citizens are strategically located in Al Khawaneej 2, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Hatta.

Mattar Al Tayer, Dubai’s Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Wellbeing Pillar, reiterated the committee’s commitment to implementing initiatives in line with the leadership’s vision. This aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, focused on empowering the community and ensuring family stability.

Dawood Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized collaboration to enhance citizens’ happiness and well-being. The efforts aim at promoting sustainable development in Dubai with a human-centric approach, improving overall quality of life.

Omar Hamad Abdullah Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, underscored the Establishment’s dedication to delivering modern housing services, contributing to the social stability of Emirati families in Dubai. These initiatives align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and reinforce the comprehensive sustainable development model across the city.

Earlier in the month, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid launched the AED208 billion Dubai Social Agenda program, with a key objective to double the number of Emirati families in the emirate within a decade. Plans also include enhancing housing standards, healthcare, and the overall quality of life for citizens.
