Saudi Arabia Implements Automatic Monitoring for Vehicle Insurance Violations

Starting from October 1, 2023, the Saudi General Traffic Department will begin implementing automatic monitoring for the violation of not having valid insurance for vehicles. This measure will be enforced every 15 days across all regions of the Kingdom. According to amendments made in the Traffic Law, the lack of valid vehicle insurance is considered a violation, subject to a minimum fine of SR100 and a maximum of SR150.

The department emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and instructions, and urged both citizens and expatriates to ensure their vehicles have valid insurance to protect their rights in the event of any traffic accidents. This move aims to enhance road safety and compliance with traffic laws in Saudi Arabia.
