Notable Actor Michael Gambon Passes Away at 82
Renowned British-Irish actor Michael Gambon, known for his iconic portrayal of Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight “Harry Potter” films, has passed away at the age of 82. Gambon’s family announced his demise, stating that he died peacefully in the hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus by his side, following a battle with pneumonia.
Gambon, who began his acting career in theater, gained recognition for his roles in both television and film, earning accolades including four television BAFTAs and an Olivier award. He became a household name in Britain for his role as a French detective in the ITV series “Maigret” and for his performance in Dennis Potter’s “The Singing Detective” in 1986.
