Riyadh’s Ambitious ‘The Cube’ Project to Feature Flying Car Racetracks

Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh, is set to witness the construction of a groundbreaking city-within-a-city project known as “The Cube.” As part of the Murabba downtown plan, this development aims to redefine Riyadh’s urban landscape, featuring a 400-meter-high cube-shaped skyscraper that will house innovative concepts, including racetracks for flying cars.

Key Features of The Cube :
1. Supertall Skyscraper: The Cube will stand at 400 meters in height, officially classified as a supertall skyscraper.
2. Size and Design: The structure will be 400 meters long on each side, creating a cubic form that contributes to the new face of Riyadh.
3. Interior Space: Inside, The Cube will encompass two million square meters of space dedicated to shops, cultural and tourist attractions, an expansive atrium, and a spiraling tower.
4. Murabba District: The development is part of the broader Murabba district, a 19-square-kilometer plan in northwest central Riyadh that aims to become a new downtown area.
5. Overall Development: The Murabba district will feature over 100,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, extensive retail space, office buildings, entertainment venues, a technology and design university, and an iconic museum.
6. Flying Car Racetracks: Notably, The Cube will include racetracks for flying cars, aligning with the vision of future urban mobility.
7. Immersive Experiences: The project promises immersive experiences that simulate visits to other planets or worlds where structures dwarf regular-sized buildings.
8. Completion Date: The ambitious project is slated for completion by 2030, according to the Saudi government.

The Cube” is one of several visionary projects funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, reflecting the country’s commitment to urban innovation and development. This includes “The Line,” a luxury mega-city within the NEOM project, designed to extend horizontally for 105 miles across the desert, with a total estimated cost of $500 billion. The NEOM project, encompassing various initiatives, is projected to cost a staggering $1 trillion.
