The fair, which opened its doors on Thursday, is set to captivate audiences until October 7, with a remarkable assembly of over 1,800 publishing houses hailing from 32 different countries.
At the heart of the fair, the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion stands as a beacon of Omani culture and heritage, inviting visitors to delve into the nation’s rich literary tapestry. Among the captivating exhibits are rare Omani manuscripts, a diverse array of Omani publications, and a striking fine arts display. Attendees will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in artistic and musical performances, gaining an intimate glimpse into the cultural tapestry of Oman. Moreover, a dedicated corner for cutting-edge VR technology will provide an interactive experience, further enhancing the immersive journey into Oman’s cultural heritage.
His Excellency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, lauded the occasion, stating, “The participation of the Sultanate of Oman as a guest of honour in Riyadh International Book Fair comes as an affirmation of the bonds of love and rapprochement between the two brotherly countries, and an embodiment of the distinguished cultural relations and issues of concern to Arab culture and thinkers. The participation also represents great importance for the Sultanate to introduce its cultural, historical, intellectual, literary, and artistic components.”
