UAE Authorities Extend Holiday Cheer with Complimentary Parking in Celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

In a gesture of goodwill and festivity, authorities in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi have announced complimentary parking for residents in honor of Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon him) birthday. This generous offering comes as the UAE gears up to observe a three-day break, commencing on Friday, September 29, allowing citizens and residents to partake in the celebrations.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that public parking within the emirate will be made available at no cost on Friday, September 29, with the exception of multi-level terminals, ensuring convenience for residents looking to engage in the festivities. However, standard parking fees will be reinstated on Saturday, September 30, followed by another day of complimentary parking on Sunday, adhering to the usual parking regulations in the emirate.

Similarly, the Sharjah Municipality has extended its generosity by offering free parking throughout the emirate on Thursday, September 28. This service will continue into Friday, aligning with the customary practice of free parking during weekends. However, residents are advised that regular parking charges will be in effect on Saturday, and the subsequent Sunday.

In the capital city of Abu Dhabi, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport has unveiled plans for free parking and toll timings during the upcoming public holiday on September 29. The Darb toll gate system will operate free of charge on Friday, extending a hassle-free experience to motorists. Toll gate charges will be reinstated on Saturday, specifically during peak hours from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Moreover, surface parking in Abu Dhabi will be provided at no cost during the holiday, commencing on Friday and continuing until 7:59 a.m. on Saturday. As a customary practice, free parking will be available once again on Sundays. Additionally, the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will offer complimentary parking during the official holiday.

The ITC has earnestly urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to parking regulations, avoiding prohibited areas and ensuring smooth traffic flow. Furthermore, residents are encouraged to utilize designated parking spaces and refrain from parking in residential areas between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.

In the spirit of unity and celebration, the UAE’s generous offering of free parking stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to fostering a harmonious community during this auspicious occasion. This gesture not only showcases the country’s dedication to its cultural and religious values but also exemplifies its unwavering support for its citizens and residents alike.
