Missing Indian Expat in Kuwait Confirmed Dead After Abu Halifa Traffic Accident
Kuwait City: An Indian expatriate who had been missing since Monday, December 16, was found dead in a traffic accident in the Abu Halifa area of Kuwait.
The deceased was working as a security guard at Al-Dhow General Trading & Contracting Company in Kuwait and was identified as Kumaresan Perumal, a native of Thoothukudi in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, who had come to Kuwait for work in 2023.
Kumaresan is survived by his wife and a 1.5-year-old son.
According to a local report in Kuwait, Kumaresan’s family, who have lost contact with Kumaresan, have sought help from Tamil Nadu government officials.
Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan and Diaspora Tamil Welfare Minister Nasser have requested social activist Mathi to find out the details of Kumaresan’s whereabouts.
With the help of Raja, president of the Tamil Engineers Forum (TEF), Mathi contacted Kumaresan’s employer, who informed him that he had not been to work since December 16.
After intensive search at nearby hospitals, it was confirmed that Kumaresan Abu Halifa had died tragically from injuries sustained in the car accident.
Kumaresan’s body was repatriated to Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, December 24, by Kuwait Airways.
