Civil Defence Urges Vigilance as Thunderstorms Loom Over Saudi Arabia
The General Directorate of Civil Defence in Saudi Arabia has issued a warning regarding the potential occurrence of thunderstorms across the country from Saturday until the following Wednesday. Citizens are advised to exercise caution and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
Residents are strongly advised to seek shelter in secure locations and to avoid areas prone to flooding, including water swamps and valleys. Swimming in these areas is strictly discouraged due to the high risks involved.
It is imperative for individuals to stay updated with the latest weather advisories through various media platforms in order to remain informed about any developments.
Regions expected to experience thunderstorms include Makkah, encompassing Taif, Maysaan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, and Al-Kamel, as well as Asir, Jazan, and Al-Baha. These areas may witness varying degrees of rainfall, potentially leading to torrential downpours, hail, and gusty winds that may raise dust and dirt.
In the Makkah region, which encompasses the Holy Capital, Al-Jamoum, Bahrah, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Layth, and the regions of Madinah, Northern Borders, and Hail, lighter to moderate rainfall is anticipated, accompanied by brisk winds capable of stirring up dust.
Additionally, the Civil Defence forecasts light rain in the Northern Border areas, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and the Al-Sharqiyah region.
