UAE Welcomes Truce in Gaza Strip, Hopes for Permanent Ceasefire

The UAE has welcomed the announcement of a truce in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of detainees between Palestine and Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the US in achieving this agreement, which includes a four-day ceasefire. This temporary pause in hostilities aims to facilitate the exchange of detainees and prisoners, as well as the delivery of relief supplies and humanitarian aid.

In a statement, the UAE expressed hope that this truce would lead to a permanent ceasefire, ultimately ending the crisis and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. The country emphasized the importance of returning to negotiations to achieve a two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, the UAE pledged to continue working with the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross to double efforts in supporting and assisting initiatives to alleviate human suffering in Gaza. The focus remains on providing aid to the most vulnerable segments of the population, including patients, children, the elderly, and women.
