UAE Weather Alert: Yellow and Orange Alerts Issued for Rainfall and Convective Clouds

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued yellow and orange alerts for convective clouds and associated rainfall over coastal areas and select internal regions today. The alert, covering parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and other emirates, is in effect until 8:30 PM. The NCM has also cautioned about potential flash floods in the eastern regions, advising residents to stay clear of these areas. Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads during rainy conditions, paying attention to changing speed limits displayed on electronic signs. Some residents have reported hearing thunder, and videos of rain in Sharjah and Ajman have been shared on social media. Temperatures are expected to drop, reaching 26°C in Abu Dhabi and 27°C in Dubai, while mountainous areas could experience a drop to 16°C. Sea conditions will range from moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
