UAE Stands with Greece: Sheikh Mohamed Expresses Sympathy for Flood Victims
Sheikh Mohamed called Prime Minister Mitsotakis and the Greek people to offer his deepest regrets and sympathy for the loss of life and destruction caused by the country’s recent floods.
The UAE’s sympathy with Greece in these extremely difficult circumstances was reiterated by Sheikh Mohamed in his condolence message to the families of the dead.To express his gratitude for the UAE’s ongoing support for Greece, Prime Minister Mitsotakis acknowledged His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The floods damaged more than 700 square kilometers (270 square miles) of Greece’s central farmland region, according to Copernicus, a satellite and earth observation program of the European Union. Numerous thousand houses were without water and electricity for days as a result of the floods, which also wrecked buildings and roads. The flood has claimed the lives of fifteen people, while many were saved in a significant evacuation operation that involved the deployment of helicopters.
