Red Alert for Fog in UAE: Motorists Urged to Exercise Caution Amid Poor Visibility

Motorists are being asked to take extra precautions as some parts of the country will see fog on Friday morning.

A red alert has been issued in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with residents in some coastal and inland areas warned of poor visibility until 9am. This is the third day that the National Meteorological Center (NCM) has issued an early morning fog warning. However, such conditions are expected as the weather turns autumnal.

The NCM has called on road users to slow down and follow traffic instructions, especially in areas under red and yellow alerts. Here is a map showing the affected areas at 6.25 am:
Overall, today’s weather is expected to be clear and partly cloudy at times. A few dense clouds may develop in the afternoon and humidity will increase in the evening.
Snow is expected to continue on Saturday morning.

Abu Dhabi recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and Dubai recorded a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius.

Winds will be light to moderate but may become gusty at times with gusts up to 35km/h.

Tides are light in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
