Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder clarified that these unarmed surveillance flights are not directly aiding Israeli military operations on the ground. Instead, the primary goal is to assist in pinpointing hostages, monitoring for signs of life, and relaying potential leads to the Israel Defense Forces.
