EAM Jaishankar Holds High-Level Bilateral Talks at UNGA 79 with Denmark, UAE, and Other Nations
External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar held high-level bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Singapore on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Discussions focused on strengthening ties between India and these countries, emphasizing cooperation in various fields.
In a post on X, Jaishankar said, “Delighted to meet Denmark’s FM Lars Løkke Rasmussen today at UNGA79. We appreciated the positive directions in our relationship. A Shared Perspective on the Ukraine Conflict.”
Jaishankar interacted with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Makhdoom bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, “Always a pleasure to meet my dear friend. Our relationships and the state of the globe are rich with conversation starters.
During an encounter with Rashid Merido, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Turkmenistan, Jaishankar wished the country happy National Day and discussed ways to further relations.
During their conversation, which focused on the development of bilateral relations, Jaishankar expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtior Saidov’s perspectives on regional issues.
“Singapore FM’s lengthy chat with Vivian Balakrishnan was a great decision,” stated Jaishankar after meeting with Singapore’s foreign minister.
Jaishankar, who is currently on a visit to the US, met several representatives and diplomats including FM Caspar Veldkamp of the Netherlands, FM Timko Mukunski of North Macedonia, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Nurtloo, Foreign Minister of Morocco Nasser Bourita, Belgium. Prime Minister Alexandre de Croux and Swiss Federal Councilor Ignacio Cassis, among others.
