UAE and Japan Stand United with India in Global Fight Against Terrorism
United Arab Emirates and the Japan have firmly backed India’s continuous war on terrorism in a major show of international solidarity. In order to increase international awareness of terrorism, especially the recent carnage coming from Pakistan, multi-party delegations from India held high-level talks with leaders in Abu Dhabi and Tokyo. This outreach comes after last month’s devastating Pahalgam incident, which killed 26 people.
In Abu Dhabi, a delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde met with key UAE officials, including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance, and Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Committee. The delegation also spoke with other notable figures of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Nahyan declared, “India and UAE will tackle terrorism together,” reinforcing the UAE’s steadfast support for India in the fight against terrorism. The UAE will support India no matter what. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi stressed the need for international cooperation due to the worldwide threat posed by terrorism. He urged lawmakers worldwide to unite in developing effective strategies to create a safer future for all humanity.
Highlighting the deep and multifaceted ties between the UAE and India, Al Nuaimi added, “We are already cooperating closely with India on counter-terrorism efforts. Indian nationals’ safety and security in the United Arab Emirates is a top concern that cannot be compromised. This statement emphasized the tight people-to-people links and strong bilateral relationship that go beyond government-to-government contacts.
The discussions were “very fruitful,” according to MP Shrikant Shinde, who praised the UAE’s resolute anti-terrorism posture.
Meanwhile, in Tokyo, another Indian delegation led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha engaged in discussions with Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and other senior officials. Minister Iwaya strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and voiced Japan’s solidarity with India and the global community in countering terror threats. He commended the significance of holding those guilty accountable and praised India for its calm response to the Pahalgam assault. Iwaya expressed sympathy for the victims and their families and reaffirmed Japan’s support for India’s counterterrorism initiatives.
India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar commended the delegation’s efforts on social media, writing, “Great to see #TeamIndia taking our message of zero tolerance for terrorism to the world.” The Indian Embassy in Japan released a statement emphasizing similar affirmations.
To further convey India’s resolute opposition to terrorism in all its manifestations, a third group of delegations, led by DMK Lok Sabha MP K Kanimozhi, is touring Russia and other European nations in addition to the teams that are already in the UAE and Japan.
The UAE delegation included a diverse group of Indian parliamentarians and former diplomats, while the Japanese delegation featured representatives from multiple political parties and experienced diplomats, showcasing a broad political consensus on this critical issue.
