South Korea has stepped forward with a generous aid of one million dollars, channelled through the United Nations’ Humanitarian Coordination Office. This contribution will be directed towards “life-saving activities” in Afghanistan, as emphasized by the OCHA. South Korea’s commitment to aiding Afghanistan is evident in its ongoing support, having provided over 18 million dollars to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund since 2014. The nation’s assistance is particularly crucial in light of recent distressing events, including the earthquake in Herat and the forced return of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries. The scale of the crisis is immense, with millions of Afghans facing severe food insecurity, and earthquake survivors in Herat struggling to access basic necessities. The aid from South Korea serves as a beacon of hope in these challenging times, offering much-needed relief to a population grappling with multiple hardships.
