Six-Year-Old Gaza Child, Brought to UAE for Treatment, Succumbs to Advanced Leukemia

A six-year-old child, transported from the besieged Gaza Strip to the UAE for medical treatment, has tragically passed away. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) revealed that the young patient was in an advanced stage of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, facing numerous complications.

The child, who arrived in the UAE with multiple health issues, was promptly transferred to a specialized medical center for treatment. Despite the efforts, the child’s condition deteriorated, leading to the unfortunate outcome. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the grieving family.

This child was among several patients brought to the UAE following the directive of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming to bring 1,000 children from Gaza for medical treatment. The UAE has also offered to treat 1,000 cancer patients in its hospitals amid the collapsing healthcare system in the city due to ongoing bombings by Israel.

Last month, a Khaleej Times team accompanied medical volunteers to Al Arish airport in Egypt, facilitating the transportation of sick and injured individuals back to the UAE. This marked the second batch of patients brought to the country for immediate medical care, with swift arrangements made to admit them to various hospitals nationwide.

On Saturday, amid continuous relief efforts, the fourth group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE, further emphasizing the country’s commitment to providing medical assistance to those in need.
