Seamless Immigration at Dubai International Airport with Facial Recognition Smart Gates

In a groundbreaking move towards hassle-free travel, residents arriving at and departing from Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 can now breeze through passport control using advanced smart gates equipped with facial recognition technology. This innovation promises a swift and contactless immigration experience.
To avail this service, residents must first register their passport or Emirates ID at DXB Terminal 3. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has set up a pavilion at the Gitex Global event for easy registration. Visitors can simply pass through the smart gate, look at the green light (camera), and proceed without the need to scan any identification document. It is advised to remove any items covering the face, such as glasses, face masks, or hats, for a clear scan.
While currently available at five smart gates in DXB Terminal 3, the GDRFA plans to implement facial recognition technology across Terminals 1 and 2 in the near future. This development marks a significant leap in the travel experience for residents and visitors to Dubai.
