Dubai witnessed a spectacular celebration of Porsche’s legacy as over 27,000 fans gathered for the Icons of Porsche event on November 25–26. The event marked the commemoration of 75 years of Porsche sportscars and 60 years of the iconic 911 model. Enthusiasts of classic cars, arts, and culture were treated to a series of highlights, including the public debut of the new Panamera and the unveiling of a special ‘Sonderwunsch’ 911 Turbo paying homage to the inaugural 911 Turbo.
Among the showcased vehicles were the regional premieres of the 718 Spyder RS and the Vision 357 Speedster concept. The Mission X all-electric hypercar concept, the 911 S/T, and several cars from the Porsche Museum collection also graced the event. Notably, the festival zones offered diverse attractions, ranging from the celebration of 60 Years of 911 to the Esports Arena, The Pit Lane, The Boulevard, Mission X, Porsche Museum heritage truck, Art Beach, and the new Panamera Cube.
A striking addition to the Dubai Design District skyline was an inflatable Porsche 911 coupe, visible from several kilometers away. This eye-catching balloon, resembling the first-generation F-Series 911 produced from 1963 to 1973, set a new Guinness World Record for the ‘largest inflatable vehicle.’ Measuring nearly 20 meters in length, over six meters in height, and more than eight meters in width, the gigantic inflatable served as a fitting tribute to Porsche’s 75th anniversary and the 60th year of the iconic 911 model.
Guinness World Records representatives were present to certify the achievement, emphasizing the rich history and legacy of Porsche.
