Oman Hosts Seminar on Humanitarian International Law

The Sultanate of Oman played host to a significant seminar on “Humanitarian International Law,” organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Running from September 17 to 19, the seminar was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the articles comprising humanitarian international law, along with its historical evolution. Additionally, the event served as a platform to showcase the pivotal work carried out by the Red Cross.

Distinguished attendees included high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), as well as representatives from various military and security units. The seminar’s agenda encompassed a thorough exploration of humanitarian international law’s inception and progression, shedding light on its critical significance in modern times.

This event reaffirms Oman’s commitment to promoting international humanitarian law and fostering a deeper understanding of the principles that underpin humanitarian efforts.
