In a notable achievement, the Sultanate of Oman has secured the 6th position in the Arab world and an impressive 65th spot on the global stage in the 2023 Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD). The accolade was further embellished with Oman clinching the esteemed “Excellence Award” in the same category.
This recognition was formally unveiled during Oman’s active participation in the 4th Extraordinary Conference of the Universal Postal Union, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The Universal Postal Union’s 2IPD index serves as a barometer for monitoring the progress and development of postal services across 172 member states, focusing on crucial parameters like reliability, access, connectivity, and flexibility.
The achievement stands as a testament to Oman’s unwavering commitment to fostering growth and advancement in the postal sector. The credit for this milestone extends to the concerted efforts of Oman’s legislative, regulatory, and executive authorities, all dedicated to steering the postal sector towards new heights of excellence. This achievement also bears testimony to the commendable progress made by Oman Post, which has recently witnessed substantial development initiatives.
