Oman Declares Official Holiday for 53rd National Day Celebration

In accordance with the royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman has declared Wednesday and Thursday, November 22–23, 2023, as an official holiday. The holiday extends to employees in the state’s administrative apparatus (public sector), other legal entities, and private sector establishments. This declaration is in celebration of the 53rd Glorious National Day.

The 22nd and 23rd of November 2023 have been designated as official holidays for employees across various sectors in Oman.

The holiday is in observance of the 53rd Glorious National Day, a significant occasion for Oman that is marked by various celebrations and events.

While the official holiday is declared, employers have the flexibility to negotiate with their employees regarding work continuation during these days if deemed necessary. In such cases, employees are to be compensated for their work.

The declaration of the official holiday is in line with the Royal orders of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

This announcement allows the people of Oman to participate in and enjoy the celebrations and festivities planned for the 53rd National Day, reflecting the significance of the occasion in the country’s history and heritage.
