On September 7, 2023, the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education will be the targets of the second trial phase of the “Unified Treasury Account” project, which has been started by the Ministry of Finance.
In addition to maximizing the use of public money, the project intends to improve the quality and accuracy of financial reports, centralize the management of bank accounts and cash liquidity, and manage cash liquidity.
The second stage is where the project’s outcomes are evaluated, along with how simple it is to apply to various government agencies and a larger number of bank accounts. The remainder of the government departments will adopt the unified treasury account structure as the Ministry of Finance grows.
The Ministry started executing the project with the Tax Authority and the Ministry of Labor in June 2022. The first pilot phase’s implementation was completed by 100% of the Tax Authority and by 95% of the Ministry of Labour.
