Medical Emergency Diverts Air India Express Flight to Karachi for Passenger Assistance

In a swift response to a mid-flight medical emergency, an Air India Express flight originating from Dubai en route to Amritsar took a critical detour to Karachi, Pakistan. The decision was prompted by the urgent need to provide immediate medical aid to an ailing passenger, highlighting the crew’s commitment to passenger safety.

The incident unfolded at 8:51 am local time, shortly after the aircraft departed from Dubai. A passenger experienced a severe medical complication, necessitating decisive action. A spokesperson for Air India Express explained, “A guest on board our Dubai-Amritsar flight had a sudden medical complication in flight, and the crew opted to divert to Karachi, given that it was the closest location to provide immediate medical assistance.”

The flight touched down at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi at approximately 12:30 pm local time. The airline, in tandem with airport authorities and local personnel, orchestrated a seamless operation to ensure the passenger received timely medical attention upon arrival.

Under the supervision of the airport doctor, Karachi’s medical team promptly administered the necessary treatment. After a thorough evaluation, the passenger was deemed fit to continue the journey.
