UAE Celebrates International Day of Families, Reinforces Commitment to Family-Centric Development

The United Arab Emirates will celebrate International Day of Families on May 15 under the theme “Family-Based Policies for Sustainable Development: Towards the Second World Summit for Social Development 2025”, joining the rest of the world in this global celebration. The event underscores the UAE’s continued commitment to placing families at the heart of developing the country.

The UAE’s National Vision places families at its core

Families in the UAE are seen as the cornerstone of a secure and harmonious society. Driven by the belief that strong families nurture generations with values, identity and preparedness for the future, family well-being is prioritized in all its policies, development programs and laws. Families foster the values ​​of accountability, loyalty and resilience – qualities critical to a country’s growth and unity.
The UAE has adhered to these ideals since its establishment. People are the country’s real asset, according to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Under President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with assistance from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and under the direction of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the “Mother of the Nation,” whose guidance in social and family matters has influenced national initiatives, this vision is still being carried out.
