The United Arab Emirates, which expressed President Donald Trump’s recent decision to relax sanctions on Syria as a crucial step that might further the nation’s road toward restoration and long-term development, has voiced its strong support for the decision.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the UAE underscored its commitment to backing the Syrian people and applauded the efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote peace and progress in Syria. The UAE characterized the U.S. decision as a step that might enable economic recovery and make it easier for Syria to reconstruct its infrastructure, which is desperately needed.
