Indians in Emirate crossed 3.5 million, popular destination for them.

The number of Indians living in the UAE has crossed 3.5 million, new figures have revealed. India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, announced the latest number of displaced people in the Lok Sabha last Saturday.

In it, the population of Indians has increased from 3.419 million at the end of 2022 to 3.554 million at present. He also said that the UAE is a very popular destination for Indian citizens looking for jobs abroad.

As the Gulf countries continue to be flooded with Indian talent, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman are currently home to a large number of Indians, he said. He also said that the Government of India has established Overseas Indian Aid Centers in Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah, which will be of great help to the people living in the Gulf countries.

The UAE and India have deepened their partnership in recent years, boosting trade and strengthening ties in culture, the labor sector and education. In turn, last February 2022, the two countries jointly signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. This is expected to increase non-oil trade between the two countries to $100 billion in five years.

Also, through this agreement, 80 percent tariffs on UAE and Indian goods have been removed. Meanwhile, UAE Foreign Minister Dr. Thani Al Zayudi has said that all tariffs will be removed within 10 years.
