Emirates Flights Canceled due to super typhoon Saola
Dubai: Because of the extreme weather brought on by Super Typhoon Saola, Emirates flights from Dubai to Hong Kong have been canceled.
Super Typhoon Saola approached Hong Kong and the southern coast of the Chinese mainland on Thursday, prompting China to issue its strongest typhoon warning, and other towns postponed the start of the new school year out of prudence. As of 6 pm (10:00 GMT) on Thursday, Saola was around 370 kilometers (225 miles) southeast of the Chinese financial center and had wind gusts that reached 200 km/h (125 mph).
The airline has announced the cancellation of flights set to leave Dubai on September 1 and 2, according to information on its website.
The list of cancelled flights is as follows:
- EK380 on 01st September and EK381 on 02nd September
- EK384 DXB‑HKG and BKK‑HKG on 01st September
- EK385 HKG‑DXB and HKG‑BKK on 01st September
Emirates stated on its website that “customers connecting to Hong Kong will not be accepted for travel at the point of origin until further notice.”
Customers who had reservations with travel agencies were urged to get in touch with them for alternate travel plans by the airline.
