Dubai’s Skyline Expands: New Bridge to Link Bur Dubai and Dubai Islands
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has entered into an agreement with Nakheel for the construction of a major bridge linking Bur Dubai with the Dubai Islands project. This bridge, spanning 1,425 meters, will feature four lanes in each direction and provide direct access points on both ends. It will rise 15.5 meters above the Dubai Creek and incorporate a 75-meter-wide canal to allow various types of ships to pass through. Additionally, the project will include a dedicated lane for cyclists and pedestrians, along with elevators for their convenience. Surface roads of around 2 kilometers in length will also be built to connect with existing roads. The project is slated for completion in 2026.
