Dubai Civil Defence Partners with NFPA to Elevate Global Fire Safety Standards
Collaboration Aims to Forge Best Practices and Technological Innovations in Fire Safety

Dubai Civil Defence has embarked on a strategic collaboration with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the world’s largest fire safety organization based in the United States. The signing ceremony, graced by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, marks a significant milestone in advancing fire safety protocols on a global scale.
Maj-Gen Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director-General of Dubai Civil Defence, expressed the organization’s ambition to become a beacon of excellence in implementing cutting-edge systems for the protection of lives and property. Jim Pauley, President and CEO of NFPA, commended Dubai Civil Defence for its outstanding security measures and innovative deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations.
The partnership is poised to facilitate the exchange of successful practices, expertise, and knowledge, further strengthening regional and global collaborations in the realm of fire safety. It underscores the joint dedication to cultivating best practices in this critical field.
During Sheikh Mansoor’s visit to the Dubai Civil Defence headquarters, several key appointments were announced. Major Issa Ahmed Al Mutawa was appointed President of the Advisory Committee and a judge in the Arbitration Committee for the International Security and Safety Exhibition. Information security specialist Aliya Omar bin Touq was also named Vice-President of the advisory committee.
These appointments stand as a testament to the exceptional talent and proficiency of the Emirati workforce, highlighting their significant contributions to the success of global initiatives across various sectors.
