Abu Dhabi Police Implement Traffic Ban for Heavy Vehicles During Rush Hour

Abu Dhabi Police have announced a traffic ban for heavy vehicles during morning and evening rush hours on Monday, November 13. The restriction will be in effect from 6:30 am to 9:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Heavy vehicles will not be permitted on Suihan Road towards Shwamakh via Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Street, extending up to the “Maffah” truck bridge in both directions. Drivers of heavy vehicles are advised to use the alternative route via Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street towards the Zayed Military Roundabout through Al-Adla Road to Al-Rawdah (Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Truck Road).

The implementation of traffic bans for heavy vehicles during rush hours is a proactive measure by Abu Dhabi Police to manage traffic flow and improve safety on key routes. This decision is likely in response to concerns over congestion and potential safety risks posed by heavy vehicles during peak travel times. By providing an alternative route, authorities aim to ensure smoother traffic conditions for all road users. Such targeted traffic management strategies are important for maintaining efficient transportation networks in urban areas.
