17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum Opens in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

Ras Al Khaimah, December 5: The 17th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and academics from Europe and Asia, opened in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday.

Under the theme “New Collaborative Architecture for a Modern Economy”, the forum will address critical global issues such as energy, finance, infrastructure, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, food security and environmental protection.

In his keynote address at the opening ceremony, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, highlighted the UAE’s remarkable achievements in recent decades.

He stressed the nation’s evolution as a hub for global economic, cultural and tourism activities, as well as its continued efforts to strengthen its position as a major player in the global economy.

“The UAE is actively developing a business-friendly environment to pave the way for comprehensive international cooperation,” Sheikh Saud said, Xinhua news agency reported.

In a congratulatory letter to the forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the forum’s theme reflects the growing need for a global economic system based on equality and justice.

Putin called for a shift to economic models free from discrimination, barriers and undue pressure, providing mutual benefits rather than favoring selected countries.

Antonio Fallico, president of the Forum’s organization, the Connoisseur Eurasia Association, pointed to the irreversible shift from a unipolar to a multipolar world order.Fallico emphasized the growing significance of cross-regional markets and regional globalization, emphasizing the necessity of collaboration in the face of shifting geopolitical conditions.

The forum was established in 2007 in Verona, Italy, with the goal of promoting cultural and economic exchanges throughout Eurasia. The Conoscere Eurasia Association, Roscongress Foundation, and UAE Federation of Commerce and Industry are co-hosting this year’s event, which continues until December 6.
