UAE Emerges as Global Leader in Sustainable Development and Economic Innovation
The UAE has established itself as a global leader in the new economy, according to a recent report by the Statistical Centre for the GCC (GCC-Stat) to mark the country’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad (National Day). The report highlights the UAE’s achievements in a number of sectors and its commitment to sustainable development.
In 2024, the country achieved several top global rankings, including leading positions in global trade indicators and competitiveness in maritime security/wastewater reuse/net carbon flows and green hydrogen production. The UAE ranks fourth globally in economic performance and leads the Arab world in human development, education systems and gender.
Indices of equality:
GCC-Stat is achieving its sustainable development goals through high-cost, up-to-date healthcare, universal access to basic services, and comprehensive civil registration systems. The Kingdom’s pioneering governance model supports technological advancement, human rights, and infrastructure development.
These achievements are underpinned by the Kingdom’s vision of ‘We 2031’, which is a reflection of its commitment to sustainable development. The report is being prepared as a global force for sustainable health and international cooperation.
