US Missions in UAE to Close on November 11 for Veterans Day
The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Embassy in Dubai will be closed on Monday, November 11, according to a social media post.
The closure is in lieu of Veterans Day, which honors members of the US military who have “made the ultimate sacrifice”, the US Mission to the UAE said in X. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, November 12, it added.
US missions in the UAE act as a gateway for US citizens to return home during major events and decisions. Recently, Americans in the UAE voted in the presidential election through missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Foreign nationals can vote online or at a U.S. embassy or consulate using a postal ballot system.
