UAE’s e& Breaks 5G-A Speed Record with 62 Gbps Achievement

UAE-based telecom company e& UAE has achieved a significant milestone by achieving a record speed of 62 Gbps on its 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network. This feat was accomplished by combining multiple carriers at high-band and low-band frequencies and using advanced hardware and algorithms, including multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) technology.

Khalid Murshed, CTIO of e& UAE, said he was happy about the accomplishment: “We are happy to report that e& UAE has achieved the fastest 5G-A network speed in the world. In addition, e& UAE integrates artificial intelligence to create personalized user experiences and improve energy efficiency. Adoption of 5G-advanced solutions offers unique user experiences while paving the way for ultra-high future download speeds, Murshed noted.

Together with Ericsson, e& UAE implemented Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Performance (L4S) technology in its 5G standalone network at the GITEX Global 2024 event to achieve reduced latency and consistent performance.

Ericsson highlighted that L4S technology enhances e& UAE’s 5G capabilities, is critical for industrial control and mobility automation and supports dynamic media applications such as augmented reality and cloud gaming.
Marwan Bin Shakar, Senior VP of Access Network Development at e& UAE, hailed the successful L4S deployment, which reinforces the company’s leadership in leveraging 5G capabilities for real-time applications and seamless connectivity.

Earlier, e& UAE achieved a record of 30.5 Gbps and reached 10 Gbps in the 6 GHz band, focusing on increasing frequency capacity and improving user experiences through wide-spectrum availability.
