British Teacher Sentenced to 3 Years in UAE for Soliciting Student Bribes

A British teacher has been sentenced to three years in prison and fined Dh5,000 by the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal after being found guilty of soliciting bribes from students at his school.

The teacher will be deported from the UAE following the punishment.

The teacher is accused of accepting bribes in return for changing the exam results and unfairly raising the grades of the students.

Evidence of the teacher’s misbehavior came to light when the public prosecution began an investigation.

Currently, the Federal Public Prosecution is investigating several cases related to plagiarism and examination disruption.
