UAE Supports Egypt Amid Israeli Claims on Philadelphi Corridor

The UAE has expressed its full support to Egypt in resolving Israel’s claims and accusations related to the Philadelphia Corridor, News.as reported citing Gulf news.

The UAE strongly condemned the offensive Israeli statements, which threaten regional stability and worsen the current situation, Wham news agency reported.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised the extensive mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar and the United States to reach a ceasefire and release the hostages.

The UAE expressed hope that these efforts would end the conflict, alleviate further suffering of the Palestinians and strengthen the foundations for sustainable peace in the region.
The ministry also called on the Israeli authorities to refrain from actions that fuel tension and instability.

The UAE reaffirmed its rejection of any practices that violate international resolutions and lead to escalation.
As part of the cease-fire deal, Hamas wants the Israeli military to withdraw from Philadelphia and the rest of Gaza.

Gulf countries have expressed solidarity with Egypt in criticizing Netanyahu’s stance on the 14-kilometer long corridor.

In an earlier interview, Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer accused Cairo of failing to stop cross-border arms smuggling to Hamas militants in Gaza following Israel’s withdrawal from the Palestinian territories in 2005.

He said smuggled weapons helped Hamas carry out the October 7 attacks.
