UAE Strongly Condemns Violations at Al Aqsa Mosque, Calls for International Action

In a resolute stance against the recent incursions at Al Aqsa mosque courtyard, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing storming by settlers, who are being shielded by Israeli police forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the UAE, in an official statement, has reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the full protection of Al Aqsa Mosque and has called for an immediate cessation of the serious and provocative violations occurring on its grounds. The Ministry emphasized the imperative of preserving the custodial responsibilities held by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan over the revered holy sites, in accordance with both international law and the historical significance of the region. Additionally, it stressed the vital role of the Jerusalem Endowment Administration in overseeing the affairs of Al Aqsa Mosque.

The Ministry further called upon Israeli authorities to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that could exacerbate tensions and instabilities in the region. The UAE adamantly rejects all activities that contravene established international resolutions, and vehemently opposes any actions that pose a threat to further escalation.

Moreover, the Ministry emphasized the critical need to throw support behind all regional and global initiatives aimed at advancing the peace process in the Middle East. It urged for an immediate cessation of unlawful practices that imperil the viability of the two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its rightful capital, based on the borders defined in 1967.

The UAE’s unequivocal condemnation underscores its steadfast commitment to upholding international principles of justice, peace, and the protection of sacred sites, while advocating for a lasting and equitable solution to the complex challenges facing the region.
