UAE Sends 50 Tonnes of Food Aid to Nigeria Following Devastating Floods
The United Arab Emirates has sent a plane carrying 50 tonnes of food to Nigeria in an effort to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the recent floods that have hit parts of Nigeria.
Nigeria has been hit by severe flooding as a result of heavy rains, causing extensive damage to infrastructure and displacing thousands of people.
Floods have affected many Nigerian states, including agricultural areas, resulting in food shortages and the need for urgent humanitarian assistance.
The UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Al Shamsi said, “The assistance reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening humanitarian cooperation with the international community and supporting countries during crises and disasters. This initiative helps to alleviate the suffering of the flood-affected people in Nigeria, while providing them with the support they need to get through this challenging period.
The UAE continues to provide humanitarian and relief aid to countries affected by natural disasters, as part of its commitment to uphold the values of humanitarian solidarity and provide aid to people in need around the world.
