Abu Dhabi Ministry of Education Confirms Third Term Start with Strict Rules on Attendance and Devices
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the third term of the 2024–2025 academic year will begin as planned on Monday, April 14. Both public and private schools have outlined specific guidelines for the return of students, teaching staff, and other school personnel for the final term.
It is definitely forbidden to use cell phones or any other unapproved electronic devices on school property. Any such devices discovered on campus will be seized and dealt with in accordance with the Student Behavior Policy of the institution. Students are advised to bring only necessary items, such as a fully charged laptop (either their own or the ministry’s), and iPads are prohibited.
The Ministry has reaffirmed its attendance guideline, emphasizing that all students are required to physically attend class. Parents have received emails and SMS from schools informing them of the requirements. Each missed lesson will result in an unjustified absence being noted, and three unexcused absences will be considered a full day of absence. The student’s behavioral record will reflect this.
Additionally, parents visiting the school are required to dress formally, present valid identification, and register their details at the reception for security purposes.
